• Free your life energy and soften rigidity
Your body has its own unique intelligence.
When you learn to slow down and listen to what it's trying to tell you, you may begin to notice yourself thinking and feeling differently.
With BMMI, you practice movement and awareness to help you listen to your body's deepest wisdom.
Wisdom of the Body: Where did it go?
Our bodies express their own special wisdom.
As babies and small children, we are one with our bodies.
Growing up, we start to think more and listen to our bodies less. We learn that our bodies are too fat, too thin, too awkward, too weak, too sexy or not sexy enough.
We try to control or avoid our bodies, until they scream for attention. Then, we take them to a doctor to find out what the problem is or go on a diet.
We forget that what we most need to do is listen.
When you listen, you can then:
• Live more in the here and now
• Embody what you care about instead of just talking about it
• Get to the roots and change your stubborn old habits and life patterns
• Experience the joy and playfulness you may have left behind as a child
BMMI sessions are available on an individual basis or in classes
Individual Sessions
In individual sessions you start by clarifying your goals and intentions. As we talk, you learn to bring your awareness to your breath and body sensations in present time instead of getting lost in memories of the past or fears of the future.
You may go on to specific explorations with breath, sound and movement to help you gain insights and develop tools to use in your everyday life, like slowing down, relaxing, and breathing more fully and deeply.
BMMI Classes
BMMI classes involve both playful and meditative explorations in movement, and often include breath, sound and expressive artwork.
The class creates a safe, welcoming community that invites all members to open to new possibilities within the reflective, inspiring, and supportive environment of the group.
"The class provided a safe, nurturing, expansive environment where I was able to process extremely deep emotions at my own pace in my own way with a feeling of security."
Mehta Halstead, RN, Rolfer, Craniosacral Therapist
"I felt like I was learning to follow a source
of wisdom and knowing from somewhere deep within myself. The process
allowed me to reclaim my life-energy, which had previously been bound
up and somehow unavailable.
"This left me with more vitality, moment-to-moment joy, and
resilience. I was very pleased with how grounded and enlivened I felt
after the class, and how long it all stayed with me."
Jeffrey Stayman, Massage Therapist
The essence of BMMI is about listening to your body as a key to inner wisdom. In both individual and group work, I am with you with deep respect for the intelligence within you that has brought you this far in your life. The underlying questions pervading this approach is: How fully can we live? How deeply can we love?
